This paper attempts to explore the meaning of Yin-fire by sorting out LI Dongyuan's academic theories.It is concluded that Yin-fire is the fire in Yin,which is the pathological state in which grain gas is not in its place.Grain-fire and Yin-fire are two states of one thing.The formation of Yin-fire is due to various reasons leading to the weakness of spleen and stomach,grain gas flow down kidneys,Yin-fire damages the spleen and stomach,thus forming a vicious circle.Yin is often referred to the Five zang organs,accessory organs,blood vessels and so on.Through sorting out the medication ideas of LI Dongyuan's prescription,it is summarized that after the promotion of wind medicine and the nourishment of spleen and lungs with sweet and warm medicine,Yin-fire can be restored to Yang-qi,and the meridians and organs can be redistributed,no longer causing harm.
