As one of the Sancai acupoints,Xuanji(RN21)acupoint is widely used,especially for cardiothoracic and immune system diseases.Starting from the origin of Xuanji(RN21),combining with the clinical and anatomical characteristics of Xuanji(RN21),this paper comprehensively and deeply analyzed the connotation of Xuanji(RN21).It is believed that the naming of Xuanji acupoint mainly comes from"Xuanji Yuheng","Xuanji Hunyi",and"Xuanji Yuqi".Its acupoints are intended to"rotate","center upright","occupy high",and"nourish",containing the function of"Douyun Tianji Yunshen".This acupoint is located at the projection point on the surface of the thymus and is directly connected to the thymus through the internal arteries and veins of the chest.Therefore,it is believed that its functional indications are closely related to the thymus.
