"The cause of the yangming disease is stomach excess(or stomach cold)"is the main syndrome of yangming disease.Based on exegesis,this paper holds that"cold"is actually a wrong write of the word"blockage".In terms of font shape,the official scripts and regular script of"cold"and"blockage"are very similar,and many unearthed documents have examples of"cold"and"blockage"in incorrectly writing.In the meaning of the words,"blockage"expresses"fullness","congestion"and"blocking",which is consistent with the common pathogenesis of yangming disease,so"stomach cold"shoud be"stomach blockage".In addition,No.166,No.176 and other difficult sentence which related to"cold"in Shanghan Lun could be solved by the word of"blockage".This analysis can provide a theoretical basis for follow-up research.
