Objective:To understand current official website language service ability of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)hospitals in Hunan province,and propose strategies for improvement.Methods:Based on the theory of linguistic landscape and place semiotics,the language data of 20 Three-A Grade TCM hospital websites in Hunan province was collected,classified,counted and analyzed by using the virtual space survey method,to demonstrate an accurate picture about the language service ability.Results:The overall language service ability of TCM hospital official website is insufficient with the bilingual website construction lagging behind,inadequate language codes,unreasonable signage setting,and unsatisfying service functions.Conclusion:With guidance and support from the relevant administration,Hunan TCM hospitals can construct bilingual websites in good order based on long-term vision and top-level design,adjust bilingual language codes emplacement,optimize signage structure,attach more importance to website service functions,increase on-line interaction with patients,and update information timely,so as to improve language service ability for high-quality development of TCM of Hunan province.
