Research Progress on the Toxic Effects and Mechanisms of Shandougen(Sophorae Tonkinensis Radix Et Rhizoma)on the Central Nervous System
Shandougen(Sophorae Tonkinensis Radix Et Rhizoma)has a variety of pharmacological activities, and is clinically used to treat throat inflammation, bronchitis, gum swelling and pain and other diseases. The alkaloids and flavonoids of Shandougen(Sophorae Tonkinensis Radix Et Rhizoma)are not only the effective components to exert pharmacological effects, but also the toxic components that cause liver, kidney and central nervous system damage.Nervous system toxicity is the most serious and harmful organ damage caused by Shandougen(Sophorae Tonkinensis Radix Et Rhizoma). The mechanism of central nervous system toxicity is related to the induction of oxidative stress, the induction of mitochondrial pathway apoptosis, the inhibition of nervous system related enzyme activity and the interference of ion channel function. At present, there are few clinical cases of Shandougen(Sophorae Tonkinensis Radix Et Rhizoma)poisoning. The manifestations of poisoning are mostly related to motor dysfunction. Most of the cases are children, and the manifestations of poisoning in other populations are still unclear. The research on the neurotoxic components of Shandougen(Sophorae Tonkinensis Radix Et Rhizoma)needs to be broadened and deepened. The research on the mechanism of poisoning needs to be systematically and deeply analyzed by modern biological methods at the molecular level.
