Research on the Key Elements and Countermeasures of the Inheritance and Development of External Treatment Techniques with Miao Medical Characteristics Based on Grounded Theory
Objective:To explore the key elements of the inheritance and development of external treatment techniques with Miao medical characteristics from the perspective of front-line clinical doctors, and to propose corresponding countermeasures and suggestions for the deficiencies that exist in them.Method:The semi-structured interview with front-line doctors engaged in clinical diagnosis and treatment of external treatment techniques with Miao medical characteristics is carried out,the interview data is coded and analyzed by using the grounded theory. Results:In accordance with the semi-structured interview materials of 18 front-line clinical doctors from 6 institutions in Guizhou Province that have established the clinical diagnosis and treatment of external treatment techniques with Miao medical characteristics,17 subcategories and 7 main categories were sorted out and extracted through open, axial, and selective three-level coding,in which the foothold, fundamental point, support point, entry point, landing point, breakthrough point, and starting point of the inheritance and development of external treatment techniques with Miao medical characteristics were combed, and the current development status was combined for detailed analysis. Conclusion:The key elements of the inheritance and development of external treatment techniques with Miao medical characteristics include effectiveness, safety, economy, operability, demand, maturity, and universality. In the future, the updating and improvement of key elements can be further promoted by enhancing the theoretical system, formulating technical operation standards, conducting evidence-based clinical efficacy evaluation, and perfecting policy measures,so the inheritance, innovation, and sustainable development of external treatment techniques with Miao medical characteristics can be helped.
