Progress in the Selection and Breeding of Xinjiang Brown Cattle and the Meat Type Groups
Xinjiang brown cattle are based on the local breed of Kazakh cattle in Xinjiang,and have been crossbred with multiple varieties and formed after decades of breeding to form a dairy and meat cattle breed.With the continuous development of the times and the people's preference for the consumption of agricultural products,the breeding direction and technical route of Xinjiang brown cattle were determined by comprehensively considering the ecological environment,production conditions and acceptance of the advantageous beef cattle producing areas in Xinjiang.This paper mainly expounds the breeding process,the determination of breeding direction and the breed-ing technology and progress of meat type groups of Xinjiang brown cattle,aiming to promote breed improvement and breed formation,and provide reference for the breeding of other new beef cattle breeds.
