Application Status and Prospect of Animal Welfare in Beef Cattle Production
The large-scale and intensive beef cattle breeding methods can reduce production costs to a certain extent,which is an effective way to improve production efficiency.However,under the centralized,tethered and high-density production mode,the animal welfare of beef cattle is often not effectively guaranteed,which would have a negative impact on the growth and health of beef cattle.Improving the welfare of beef cattle can improve pro-duction performance and breeding efficiency,and achieve green,healthy and sustainable development.This article introduces the concept of animal welfare,the welfare standards and requirements for beef cattle in breeding manage-ment,and the important significance of animal welfare in the process of beef cattle breeding.At the same time,the research and development of beef cattle production welfare in China are prospected,in order to provide guidance and reference for practical production.
