Surgical Installation and Postoperative Nursing of Large Aperture Fistula in the Rumen of Milk Buffalo
Rumen fistula is one of the methods to study the digestive metabolism, rumen microenvironment, physiological and biochemical indicators of ruminants, and can be widely used in nutritional research experiments of ruminants. The artificial rumen fistulas were surgically installed in 4 health milk buffaloes, and underwent approxi-mately 4 weeks of postoperative care. The results showed that the mental state, body temperature, appetite, urine and bowel movements of the surgery buffalo were all normal. After 15 days of the operation,it was found that the rumen wall of the buffaloes was healed and adhered to the peritoneum, abdominal muscle and skin, forming a natu-ral fistula without any occurrence of incision or abdominal. The results showed that the surgical method was oper-able,simple,short time, good postoperative fistula sealing, fast wound recovery, and no infection. And the operat-ing buffalo can survive normally.
