Diagnosis and Treatment of Bovine Theileriosis in Hami City
In order to explore the diagnosis and control effects of bovine tropical theileriosis, clinical diagno-sis,pathological autopsy, blood smear staining microscopy,PCR detection, and hard tick morphological identifica-tion were used in this study. In response to the symptoms of fever and lymph node enlargement in cattle raised by some farmers in Hami City in May 2023,with a mortality rate of 43.6%,60 blood samples of diseased cattle were collected for blood smear detection and PCR diagnosis to control the disease as soon as possible. The results showed that the positive rate of blood smear PCR detection was 55%and 65%,respectively.The sequencing comparison analysis revealed that the pathogen was Theileria annulata, and the positive coincidence rate of the two detection methods was 81.8%.The incidence of scale farms had a higher morbidity rate than that of sporadic farmers, and the incidence of improved cattle was significantly higher than that of local cattle, especially cattle under 2 years old.The autopsy of dead cattle showed visible pathological changes such as pale or yellow stained mucous mem-branes,bleeding points on the epicardium, liver congestion, swelling, and dark red lesions.Collect parasitic hard ticks parasitizing on the surface of diseased cattle and determine them to be small glass eyed ticks through morpho-logical identification.By using different prescriptions for different stages of disease, bovine ringworm disease can be controlled. The diagnosis, treatment, and prevention measures are proposed to provide a reference for the preven-tion and control of circular Taylor's disease.
