The Growth and Development Patterns of Xin'anjiang Buffalo
To study the growth and development patterns of Xin'anjiang buffalo bulls and cows.Weight and body size measurements were conducted on 309 Xin'anjiang buffaloes aged 0-48 months under grazing conditions, and differential analysis was performed on different ages.Three growth curve models,Logistic,Gompertz, and Von Bertallanffy, were used to fit weight changes.Select the best model to calculate the absolute and relative weight growth. The results showed that the weight and body size of Xin'anjiang buffalo bulls and cows were in a rapid growth stage before 18 month, but the growth rate of bulls were still higher than that of cows after 18 month. The Von Bertallanffy model has the best fitting effect on both bulls and cows, with R2 all exceed 0.98.Bulls have a turning point weight of 248.2 kg at 13.1 month, while cows have a turning point weight of 216.3 kg at 10.6 month.
