Diagnostic study on a non-typical thunderstorm in Guanghan airport
Using conventional observation and NCEP FNL 1° X1° data, a typical local strong convective weather process was analyzed in the days from July 26, 2012 to 28. The results show: under the condition of high pressure system, There is a local high temperature and high humidity caused by instability. Symmetric instability is an important condition for the formation of local strong convection. Wet potential vorticity barotropic term MPV1 reflects the results of symmetric instability and convective instability of joint action, and the baroclinic term MPV2 reflects the low-level jet maintenance and development plays an important role in the formation of strong convective weather.
