Research progress on pharmacological mechanisms of traditional Chinese medicine in treating colon cancer
Colon cancer is a kind of malignant tumor disease with high incidence and high mortality.Western medicine chemotherapy for colon cancer can control the disease of patients to a certain extent, but its side effects are obvious, and with the extension of treatment time, tumor cells are prone to drug resistance. In recent years, the advantages of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of colon cancer have been gradually manifested. It has become an important treatment for malignant tumor diseases. The anti-tumor mechanisms of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of colon cancer include promoting cell deformation and interfering with cell cycle through mitochondrial pathway and endoplasmic reticulum pathway, promoting tumor cell apoptosis and inhibiting proliferation, inhibiting tumor cell invasion and metastasis by inhibiting angiogenesis and regulating the expression of related cytokines and signaling pathways.Improve the immune system's killing effect on tumor cells by regulating the body's specific immunity,cost-specific immunity, inflammatory and immune signaling pathways, and immune-related cytokine synthesis.By improving the pharmacokinetics of anti-tumor drugs in the body, inhibiting the expression of related proteins, affecting the expression of enzymes, and inhibiting the function of tumor stem cells(CSCs),the resistance of tumor cells to chemotherapy drugs is reversed, etc. At present, the relevant studies on the treatment of colon cancer with traditional Chinese medicine mainly focus on the basic research stage, and clinical studies lack systematic theoretical support. Therefore, this study reviewed the pharmacological mechanism of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of colon cancer, and provided reference and basis for its treatment of colon cancer.
