An analysis on the medication rule of Lianmei series decoction based on the theory of combination of Chinese medicinal properties and flavors using geometric figures
The theory of combination of Chinese medicinal properties and flavors is an important basic theory of Chinese medicine that guides Chinese physicians on the legislation of the combination of Chinese medicinal properties and flavors for the treatment of clinical diseases. Lianmei Decoction was first mentioned in Article 36 of Wu Jutong's"Detailed analysis of warm diseases",which is mainly used to treat thirst, paralysis, and heartburn caused by summer evils entering into Shaoyin or Jueyin. The whole formula is strict, rigid and flexible, with sour, sweet and bitter drugs with each other, forming the convergence, clearing and tonic three methods of treatment, together to play a clear heart, nourish the kidney and soften the liver's efficacy, modern widely used in diarrhea, diabetes, insomnia and other diseases. In this paper,we use geometrical figures to show the origin of Lianmei Decoction and the regulation in the later generation of addition and subtraction,to show the legislative ideas and flavor combinations of the prescription in a more lively way,and to elaborate the flavor combinations and applications of the acidic medicines by the famous experts of the warm disease, such as acidic-sweet to nourish yin,sour-bitter to relieve heat,sour-pungent to promote yang, provide new approach for the clinical identification of the formulae.
