Cancer cells rely on glycolysis for energy to grow and reproduce,which is central to cancer development.The main reasons for the enhancement of aerobic glycolysis in cancer cells are closely related to key glycolysis enzymes,their transporters,signaling pathways and non-coding RNA.Recent studies have shown that a variety of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)monomers(or their active ingredients)and compounds can exert anti-tumor effects by regulating the glycolysis of tumor cells,improve the quality of life and prolong the survival of patients with advanced cancer.By targeting glucose transporters,the expression of monocarboxylate transporter,hexokinase and phosphofructokinase is down-regulated,and the activities of pyruvate kinase and lactate dehydrogenase are regulated to inhibit the glycolysis process.From myc,Ras and promote cancer gene and phosphatidyl inositol 3 kinase/protein kinase B/mammals rapamycin target protein phosphatidylinositol3-kinase/Protein kinase B/mammaliantar-getofrapamycin(PI3K/Akt/mTOR)pathway and other metabolic pathways to study the anti-tumor mechanism of aerobic glycolysis;from the perspective of microRNA(miRNA),longnoncoding RNA(lncRNA)and other non-coding RNAs,the anti-malignant tumor mechanism of TCM based on glycolysis in recent years was summarized,in order to provide references for the anti-tumor research of TCM.
