Exploring connotation and application of form,qi and spirit based on systematic traditional Chinese medicine
Based on the holistic principles of SystematicTraditional Chinese Medicine(TCM),this paper explores the scientific connotations and clinical applications of the theory of the unity of form,qi,and spirit. This study suggests that the essence of the unity of form,qi,and spirit lies in constructing an integrated'matter-energy-information'framework with humans as a holistic entity. Its physiological connotation is the orderly homeostasis of this life activity, while its pathological connotation is the loss of this order and stability.Guided by the holistic principles of Systems TCM,the concept of the unity of form,qi,and spirit can effectively guide clinical diagnosis and treatment, explain the pathological evolution of diseases, provide an overall analysis in disease diagnosis, and play a crucial role in treating systemic diseases. The unity of form,qi,and spirit emphasizes the interaction and balance between form,qi and spirit in maintaining human health. It not only provides essential guidance for disease diagnosis and treatment but also forms the theoretical foundation for health preservation, thus enabling a more accurate understanding of the pathological essence of diseases and the development of more comprehensive and effective treatment strategies. This paper advocates integrating the unity of form,qi,and spirit into clinical practice based on the theory of'qi transformation'to observe the spirit, regulate energy, and adjust form in a unified approach. The application of an integrated new mindset involving form,qi,and spirit highlights the crucial role of the holistic nature of the human body in clinical pathological analysis, diagnosis, and treatment guidance.
