Construction of an evidence-based protocol for symptom management of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy in adult patients
Objective To constructan evidence-based protocol for symptom management of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy in adult patients.Methods With the theory of symptom management as the framework,a structured literature retrieval was conducted according to the PIPOST evidence-based question,the search time is from database establishment to January 31,2022.and the quality of the literature was evaluated,and the relevant evi-dence eventually included in the literature were summarized and synthesized,and a summary of best practice recom-mendations was formed,practical and feasible specific implementation strategies was developed,and the evaluation protocol through expert focus group interviews was modified,and"Evidence-Based Practice Plan for Symptom Man-agement of Chemotherapy-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy in Adult Cancer Patients"was finally constructed.Results A total of 1 clinical decision,2 clinical guidelines,2 expert consensus,1 evidence summary,1 practical recommen-dation,1 re-evaluation of systematic evaluation,and 15 systematic evaluation/meta analysis were included.The best practice evidence recommendation included 38 pieces of evidence,and the constructed program included 6 dimensions and 1 health education manual.The expert evaluation score of the overall design of the protocol was 97.33%,the ex-pert evaluation score of each dimension was 98.67%,98.10%,99.78%,99.26%,100%,and 99.56%,respective-ly,and the health education manual was 99.89%.Conclusion Evidence-based protocol for symptom management of chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy in adult patients follows the theory of symptom management.Evidence is fully introduced to enable evidence transformation in clinical practice under the premise of assessing the feasibility,appropriateness,and clinical significance and effectiveness of evidence.In the future,the clinical feasibility of the proposed protocol should be further evaluated.
