Analysis of influencing factors on intention of early screening of lung cancer among community residents in Dongguan
Objective To investigate the intention and influencing factors of early screening of lung cancer among residents in a community in Dongguan.Methods Using convenience sampling method,residents aged 40-74 in a community in Dongguan City from July 2021 to October 2022 were selected as the research subjects.A self-designed survey questionnaire was used to investigate and analyze the willingness and influencing factors of community resi-dents for early lung cancer screening.Results A total of 1 219 community residents were surveyed,with 47.7%(n=582)showing a intention to screen for lung cancer;The results of univariate analysis showed that while gender,age,marital status,education level,type of medical insurance,and average monthly income were the influencing factors for lung cancer screening intention scores(P<0.05);The results of multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that education level and type of medical insurance(public)were the influencing factors of screening intention(P<0.05).Conclusions The intention of residents in Dongguan community to undergo early lung cancer screening is rela-tively low.Strengthening health education for key populations such as low education level,low family income,and poor medical security will help improve the early screening rate of lung cancer among community residents and facili-tate early prevention and control of lung cancer in the community.
