Evidence summary of hand pain management in adults with rheumatoid arthritis
Objective To search,evaluate,and search evidence related to the management of hand pain in adults with rheumatoid arthritis(RA),and to provide recommendations for clinical practice.Methods The relevant guideline websites and databases were systematically searched,and the related professional academic websites were supple-mently searched to collect literature related to the hand pain management in adults with RA,including clinical deci-sions,guidelines,systematic reviews,and evidence summaries.The retrieval time frame was from January 2011 to January 2022.The quality evaluation of methodology on the included literature was carried out,and the evidence was extracted and summarized for literature meeting the criteria,according to the subject.Results A total of 13 litera-tures were included,comprising 3 clinical decisions,3 guidelines,and 7 systematic reviews.The 21 best pieces of evidence were summarized in 4 areas:Pain assessment,nonpharmacological interventions,pharmacological interven-tions,and health education.Conclusion This study provides a current summary of the best evidence for hand pain management in adults with RA,offering an evidence-based foundation for pain assessment and disease management in adult RA patients.It is suggested that the evidence should be combined with ward and patient-specific circum-stances in the application,and the facilitating or hindering factors of the evidence are analyzed to carry out the man-agement intervention of hand pain for adults with RA.
