A qualitative study of the trajectory of spiritual health care for cancer patients based on grounded theory
Objective To explore the trajectory of spiritual health care for cancer patients and provide evidence for meeting the spiritual health care requirements.Methods A total of 15 cancer patients were interviewed in depth from May to August 2021,and the data were coded by using grounded theory to extract the genera and core genera.Re-sults A core category,spiritual health care trajectory,was extracted,including 5 aspects,namely,untangling the di-lemma of spiritual health care,placing expectations on spiritual health care,meeting the needs of spiritual health care,strengthening self-spiritual health care,and seeking integration with spiritual health,which were affected by strengthening factors and weakening factors of spiritual health care.Conclusion Effective assessment is the prerequi-site for developing spiritual health care,active guidance is the ideological guarantee for developing spiritual health care,timely intervention is an important strategy for developing spiritual health care,and stage feedback is an effec-tive policy for developing spiritual health care.Medical staff should understand the spiritual health care needs of cancer patients and effectively carry out spiritual health care education to improve their quality of life.
