Objective To develop of the Career Success Scale for Nurses and test its reliability and validity.Meth-ods Based on the results of literature review,the item pool of Career Success Scale for Nurses was constructed.Two-rounds expert consultation was conducted by Delphi method to form an initial scale.A total of 426 nurses in a tertia-ry general hospital in Guangdong province from December 2020 to January 2021 was selected to survey by using the convenience sampling method and the reliability and validity of the scale were tested.Results The Career Success Scale for Nurses consisted of 24 items in 4 dimensions.The result of the exploratory factor analysis showed the cu-mulative contribution rate was 76.52％.The results of confirmatory factor analysis showed that the revised model of nurses'career success fit the data well,the main model fit index x2/df was 2.44,RMSEA was 0.08,CFI was 0.94,IFI was 0.94,and TLI was 0.93.The content validity index of the total scale was 0.92,the total criterion-related validity was 0.73,the Cronbach's α coefficient was computed to be 0.96,the half-reliability was 0.86,and the test-retest reliability was 0.94.Conclusion The Career Success Scale for Nurses has a reasonably satisfying relia-bility and validity,and it can be used as an instrument to evaluate the career success of nurses.
