Objective To translate the Cancer Communication Assessment Tool for Patients and Families(CCAT-PF)Scale into Chinese and test its reliability and validity.Methods The English version of CCAT-PF Scale was translated,translated back,culturally adapted,and pretested by using Brislin model.A total of 391 cancer patients and 391 family caregivers from January to August 2022 were separately surveyed by the Chinese version of CCAT-PF Scale and its reliability and validity were tested.Results The Chinese version of CCAT-PF Scale included 2 sub-scales of cancer patients(CCAT-P)and family caregivers(CCAT-F),each with 17 items and 4 common factors ex-tracted from each subscale.The Cronbach's α coefficients of CCAT-P and CCAT-F were 0.902 and 0.900,the test-retest reliability of them were 0.956 and 0.927,and the cumulative variance contribution rates of them were 68.565％and 67.750％,respectively.The content validity indexes of item and scale level were both 1.Conclusion The Chinese version of CCAT-PF Scale has good reliability and validity,and can be used to evaluate the family com-munication level of cancer patients and family caregivers in China.
