Current situation and related research on parental pressure in mothers of children with nephrotic syndrome
Objective To investigate the current situation of parental stress in mothers of children with nephrotic syndrome,and explore the correlation between psychological capital,family function,family resilience,and parental stress,and analyze the mediating effect of psychological capital on family function,family resilience,and parental stress.Methods A total of 246 mothers of children with nephrotic syndrome were selected as the research objects in People's Hospital of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region from February in 2021 to December in 2022 by using the method of random sampling,and were investigated by general situation scale,Psychological Capital Scale,Family Function Scale,Family Resilience Scale,and Parental Stress Scale.Results(1)The scores of psychological capital,family function,family resilience,and parental stress in 246 mothers of children with nephrotic syndrom were(64.27±11.64)points,(126.82±27.46)points,(122.92±21.81)points,and(95.38±12.27)points,respec-tively.(2)There were statistically significant differences in parental stress scores among mothers of children with nephrotic syndrome with different education level,number of children,marital status,payment method of medical expenses,family structure,family per capita monthly income,and age of children(P<0.05).(3)There were nega-tive correlation between parental stress and psychological capital,family function,family resilience of mothers of children with nephrotic syndrome(r=-0.649,-0.588,-0.614;P<0.01),psychological capital was positively correlated with family function and resilience(r=0.618,0.744;P<0.01),and family function was positively cor-related with family resilience(r=0.548,P<0.01).(4)Psychological capital played a partial mediating role in fam-ily function,family resilience,and parental stress of mothers of childMothers of children with nephrotic syndrome have higher parental stress,and psychological capital plays a partial mediating role between family function,family resilience and parental stress of mothers with nephrotic syndrome.Improving the level of psychological capital can help reduce parental stress,improve family function and improve the quality of life of children with nephrotic syn-drome.ren with nephrotic syndrome,with mediating effect accounting for 24.33%and 26.97%of the total effect,respectively.Conclusions The mothers of children with nephrotic syndrome have higher parental pressure,and psy-chological capital plays a part of intermediary role in the family function,family resilience,and parental pressure of the mothers of children with nephrotic syndrome.It is helpful to increase the level of psychological capital for reduc-ing their parental pressure,improving the family function and enhancing the quality of life of the children.
