A qualitative study on the teaching dilemmas of clincal traditional Chinese medicine nursing case from the perspective of teachers
Objective To explore the difficulties faced by clinical teachers on the courses of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)nursing case teaching,so as to provide reference for improving TCM nursing case teaching ability and promoting the cultivation of TCM nursing application talents.Methods A semi-structured interview was conduc-ted among 9 nursing teachers who had participated in TCM case teaching from February to May 2023 by using phe-nomenological research methods,and then data were analyzed by Colaizzi's seven-step analysis method.Results A to-tal of 3 themes and 8 sub-themes were extracted:The perception of difficulties in implementing TCM nursing case teaching method in clinical teaching(heavy lesson preparation workload of the clinical nursing teachers,shortage of in-depth discussions during the process of syndrome differentiation analysis,and the easy change from students'initi-ative to teachers'initiative);Influencing factors of clinical implementation of TCM nursing case teaching method(case design of TCM nursing case,particularity of the theoretical knowledge of TCM,and professional ability of nursing teachers);The desired support of the clinical teaching in TCM nursing cases(improvement of personal knowledge and teaching capacity of TCM,and involvement and guidance from specialist of TCM).Conclusion It can try to con-tinuously improve education quality of clinical TCM case teaching from 4 aspects,so as to promote the cultivation of core competence of TCM nurses:The advancing application of information education resources to improve the effi-ciency and accuracy of lesson preparation;Reinforcement of the basic theory training of TCM and deepening of the connotation of the dialectical analysis teaching;Improvement of the teaching ability of clinical teachers and creation of excellent case teaching design;Enrichment of the content and forms of case teaching to stimulate students'learning motivation.
