Application of multisensory stimulation combined with cognitive behavioral therapy in insomnia patients with Alzheimer's disease
Objective To investigate the application effectiveness of multisensory stimulation combined with cog-nitive behavioral therapy on insomnia patients with Alzheimer's disease(AD).Methods A total of 70 insomnia pa-tients with AD hospitalized in the department of neurology,Xuanwu Hospital,Capital Medical University from Jan-uary to December 2022 were selected as the study subjects by using the convenience sampling method and they were randomly divided into the control group and the intervention group according to the random number table method, with 35 cases each group. The control group was given conventional care, and the intervention group was given mul-tisensory stimulation combined with cognitive behavioral therapy on the basis of the control group. The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)and the Cohen-Mansfield Agitation Inventory(CMAI)were used to evaluate the sleep quality and agitation behavior of patients between 2 groups before and after the intervention. Results After the inter-vention,sleep latency, sleep duration, sleep efficiency, total PSQI,and CMAI score of patients in the intervention group had lower than those in the control group, and all differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclu-sions Multisensory stimulation combined with cognitive-behavioral therapy can improve sleep quality and agitation be-havior of insomnia patients with AD,which is worthy of clinical application.
