Research progress on symptom clusters in AIDS patients
Objective With the widespread use of antiretroviral therapy(ART),human immunodeficiency virus(HIV)infection has been transformed from a lethal disease to a manageable chronic disease.However,during the course of treatment,HIV/acquired immune deficiency syndrome(AIDS)patients experience a variety of symptoms,which do not exist in isolation,but synergistically to form symptom clusters,thus affecting patients'prognosis and quality of life.At present,there are few reports on the review of HIV symptom clusters.This paper reviewed the definition of symptom clusters,the classification of symptom clusters in HIV/AIDS patients,common assessment tools,research methods,and intervention progress,in order to provides a theoretical basis for the management of symptom clusters in HIV/AIDS patients.
