Evidence summary of repositioning in the prevention of pressure injury in elderly bedridden patients
Objective To systematically retrieve,evaluate,and summarize the relevant evidence of postural change for the prevention of pressure injury(PI)in elderly bedridden patients.Methods According to the"6S"model,the database including BMJ best clinical practice,UpToDate clinical consultants,global collaborative guidelines net-work,National Institute for Health and Care Excellence(NICE),Scottish website,JBI EBP,and Cochrane library were searched in a computer.All clinical practice guidelines,clinical decisions,recommended practice,evidence sum-mary,systematic evaluation,meta analysis,expert consensus on the prevention of PI in bedridden elderly patients were extracted,classified,and summarized after methodological quality assessment.The search period was from the establishment of the database to May 31,2023.Results A total of 12 evidence articles were included,including 2 guidelines,7 systematic reviews,and 3 evidence summaries.There was summarized 12 evidence themes and 40 best evidence from 4 aspects:Risk assessment,interval time,angle and posture,assistance and guidance.Conclusion Nurses should follow the best evidence to regulate the management of posture changes of elderly bedridden patients so as to prevent the occurrence of PI.
