Application of medical failure mode and effect analysis management mode in reducing pulmonary infection after acute stroke
Objective To explore the application effect of the management model of Health Care Failure Mode Effect Analysis(HFMEA)in reducing the rate of pulmonary infection in acute stroke patients. Methods Patients with acute stroke admitted to the Department of Neurology of our hospital from January to July 2023 were selected as the study subjects. From January to March 2023,57 patients before the implementation of HFMEA were the control group; From April to July 2023,57 patients after the implementation of HFMEA were the observation group.Applying the HFMEA assessment tool, the potential risk factors and risk links that triggered lung infections were analyzed, and the risk priority index(RPN)was calculated, and improvement measures for the items with RPN>125 points were formulated and evaluated the effect of its application. Results After the application of HFMEA man-agement model, the RPN values of the 6 failure modes in the observation group were lower than those of the control group(P<0.05),and the pass rates of 3 standard precautions of the regulatory process and the pass rates of 3 nursing processes were higher than those of the control group(P<0.05).The rate of pulmonary infection,hospi-talization time, and hospitalization costs of patients in the observation group were lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion After applying the HFMEA management model, clinical nurses can reduce the inci-dence of acute stroke lung infection rate, shorten the hospitalization time, and reduce the hospitalization cost by im-plementing the preventive measures of specialized sensory control technology standards, standardizing the nursing process of the key links, and jointly supervising and verifying the process, with respect to the risk factors and links of hospital infection.
