A qualitative study on the core competency training needs of fever clinic nurses in tumor specialty hospitals
Objective To explore the training needs for core competencies of fever clinic nurses in tumor specialty hospitals.Method A purposive sampling method was used to select 16 nurses working in the fever clinic of our hos-pital in 2023 for semi-structured interviews.Descriptive phenomenological research method was used in qualitative research,and the dominant theme was extracted through iterative constant comparative analysis.Result Three core themes and eight sub themes were extracted through interviews,including medical professional knowledge,skills,research abilities,communication and collaboration abilities,and personal self-regulation abilities.Conclusion Fever clinic nurses are eager to seek relevant training on their core competencies,and should pay attention to the cultiva-tion of core competencies that meet the needs of these nurses.They should also pay attention to the psychological problems and self-regulation ability of fever clinic nurses.
