Application of ultrasound-assisted intestinal preparation for pediatric Hirschsprung disease before surgery
Objective To investigate the application and effect of ultrasound in the intestinal preparation in pediat-ric Hirschsprung disease.Methods A total of 60 children with Hirschsprung disease who underwent surgery in the department of general surgery of Anhui Provincial Children's Hospital from December 2021 to December 2023 were selected as the study subjects,and were divided into the observation group(30 cases)and the control group(30 ca-ses)using simple random sampling method.The children in the control group was given regular cleaning reflux ene-ma before operation;On the 1st day,the 3rd day,and the day before operation,the children in the observation group were used ultrasound imaging to evaluate the stool in the intestine before cleaning the reflux enema,and then per-formed a targeted enema according to the ultrasound image results.The differences in preoperative enema intake and enema time between 2 groups were compared;The Bristol Fecal Trait Assessment Form(BSFS)was used to com-pare the difference in intraoperative intestinal cleanliness between 2 groups;The differences in postoperative compli-cation rates between 2 groups were compared.Results The observation group had less time for preoperative single enema than the control group;The total number of enema days in the observation group was lower than that in the control group;The preoperative enema intake and exit in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P＜0.05);The intraoperative BSFS score in the observation group was higher than that in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05);The postoperative complication rate in the observation group was lower than that in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).Conclusion The application of ultrasound assistance to judge the cleanliness of preoperative intestinal prepara-tion in children with pediatric Hirschsprung disease can shorten the time of preoperative intestinal preparation,in-crease the efficiency of enema,improve the cleanliness of intestinal preparation,and reduce the incidence of postop-erative complications.
