Mediating effect of exercise self-efficacy on blood glucose management enthusiasm and quality of life in patients with diabetics
Objective To explore the mediating effect of exercise self-efficacy on blood glucose management en-thusiasm and quality of life in diabetes patients. Methods A total of 273 patients with diabetes admitted to the Second Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University from October 2020 to July 2022 were selected for the question-naire survey by using the general information questionnaire,Patient Activation Measure(PAM),Exercise Self-Effi-cacy Scale(ESES),and Diabetes Specific Quality of Life scale(DSQL).Results The total score of PAM in diabetes patients was(61.61±18.77)points,which was the third level in general; The total score of ESES was(6.40±1.96)points,which was in the upper middle level; The total score of DSQL was(78.45±19.45)points,which was in the middle level.Pearson correlation analysis showed that the blood glucose enthusiasm, exercise self-efficacy and quality of life of diabetes patients were positively correlated(P<0.01).The results of mediation analysis showed that exercise self-ef-ficacy had a partial mediating effect between blood glucose management enthusiasm and quality of life, and the effect size was 29.8%.Conclusion The exercise self-efficacy,blood glucose management enthusiasm, and quality of life of diabetes pa-tients are generally at a medium level and still need to be improved.Blood glucose management enthusiasm can affect pa-tients'quality of life through the mediation of exercise self-efficacy,so it is indicated that clinical medical staff can improve patients'quality of life by improving the activation of blood glucose management.
