Objective To understand the success of neonatal breast crawling and analyze the influencing factors that lead to the failure of breast crawling. Methods Using convenience sampling,a total of 163 women and their new-borns who gave birth in the Women's and Children's Hospital Affiliated to University of Electronic Science and Tech-nology of China between January and October 2022 were included as the research objects according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, and a self-made questionnaire was consulted for investigation by searching the literature.Re-sults Out of the total cases,94 cases(57.7%)were successful in neonatal breast crawling while 69 cases(42.3%)were failed. The results of multivariate logistic analysis showed that the risk factors for crawling failure were exces-sive total labor time, excessive interval between membrane rupture and delivery, and the use of drugs(Carbetocin injection/Carboprost tromethamine injection). Conclusion The success rate of newborn crawling needs to be im-proved,and intrapartum factors can easily lead to crawling failure.Midwives should identify risk factors early, closely observe labor progress, and strictly follow medical intervention indications to provide more opportunities for newborns to autonomously search for breast milk.
