Course construction and evaluation of Nursing Information and Nursing Big Data for postgraduates in health informatics
Objective To develop a course of Nursing Information and Nursing Big Data suitable for graduate students in health informatics, and assess the teaching effectiveness. Methods A teaching team with multi-disciplina-ry backgroundhas been established to follow the teaching logic system design course content of 3 modules:Nursing information and big data theory, application scenarios, and intelligent product design thinking and methodology. From February to May 2023,the course was carried outamong the first 13 elective students using a combination of case analysis and discussion teaching methods based on the link of teaching-pausing and reflectionbased on the link oflecture-pause-reflection.The evaluation of the course includedcurriculum achievement and student evaluation, and teaching effect was evaluated from both quantitative and qualitative perspectives. Results The course content included 10 topics,2 student presentationsand discussions.Overall, students received high final grades, with 30.8%achieving excellence and 53.8%achieving good grades. The average scores for student teaching effectiveness were all above 9 points, and the teaching satisfaction rating was the highest, with an average score of(9.38±1.15)points.Students'learning feed-back and suggestions were categorized into 3themes:The richness and inspiration of the course content, the diverse discipli-nary backgrounds of the lecturers, and recommendations for more practical courses in the future. Conclusion The course of Nursing Information and Nursing Big Data for graduate students in the direction of health informatics constructed in this study has achieved a positive teaching effect,as evidenced by high student recognition and satisfaction. In the future, the course construction will be further improved according to students'suggestions.
