Objective To comparethe effect of 3 kinds of oral spray on relieving thirst in patients with early stage ofsevere acute pancreatitis(SAP),and to search the most suitable spray to reduce thirst symptoms and promote com-fort to the greatest extent.Methods Patients with SAP admitted to our hospital from January 2019 to December 2022 were selected as research objects,and randomly divided into 3 groups by random number method:Normal tempera-ture water group,ice water group,and ice mint water group.The score of thirst degree,the duration of thirst re-lief,the total amount of spray and comfort were observed.Results There were statistically significant differences in scores of thirst degree,duration of thirst relief,total amount of spray and comfort among 3 groups(P＜0.001),and the thirst relief effect of iced mint water group was better than that of ice water group and ice water group was better than that of room temperature water group.Conclusion Ice mint water as moist solution has the best effect on impro-ving thirst degree in SAP patients.It is recommended to use ice mint water as moist solution for thirst to improve patients'comfort.
