Chain mediating effect of family caring degree and sense of meaning in life between fear of disease progression and self-management behavior in patients with chronic heart failure
Objective To explore the mediating effect of family caring degree and sense of life meaning on fear dis-ease progression and self-management behavior in patients with chronic heart failure.Methods Patients with chronic heart failure who were admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University from May to September 2023 were selected as the study objects by convenient sampling method,and were investigated by the general infor-mation questionnaire,fear-of-progression questionnaire-short form(FoP-Q-sF),adaptation,patnership,growth,af-feetion and resolve(APGAR),China meaning in life questionnaire(C-MLQ),and self-management scale of heart fail-ure,and then the related data were analyzed.Results The scores of fear of disease progression,family care degree,meaning in life,and self-management behavior were(28.77±8.45)points,(7.12±2.44)points,(39.75±12.32)points,and(109.20±14.63)points.The results of correlation analysis showed that the fear of disease progression,family care degree,sense of meaning in life,and self-management behavior in chronic heart failure patients were sig-nificantly correlated(P<0.01).The results of mediating effect analysis showed that family care degree and sense of life meaning had significant chain mediating effect between fear disease progression and self-management behavior,and the mediating effect was-0.219,accounting for 49.55%.Conclusion Fear of disease progression is an impor-tant factor affecting the self-management of patients with chronic heart failure,and family care degree and sense of life meaning play a chain mediating role in it.In the future,the influence of fear of disease progression on self-man-agement behavior should be alleviated by strengthening the family care degree of patients and excavate the meaning in life of individuals.
