Objective To review the scope of the application of traditional Chinese medicine exercises among the elderly with mild cognitive impairment(MCI),and to evaluate its intervention effect and summarize the intervention program suitable for the MCI elderly.Method Based on the framework of Arksey and O'Malley's framework,9 elec-tronic databases including Pubmed,CINAHL,Cochrane Library,and Web of Science were systematically searched for the original literature from the establishment of the database until January 12,2023.The studies on intervention of MCI elderly by traditional Chinese exercise was screened out.Results A total of 22 literatures were included to de-scribe the basic contents of traditional Chinese medicine exercise in detail,and confirm its positive intervention effect on improving cognitive function in elderly MCI patients.Among them,11 studies involved the intervention of Tai Chi,9 studies used the intervention of Baduanjin,1 study used the intervention of six-character formula,and 1 study used the combination intervention of various traditional Chinese medicine exercises.The frequency of exercise in the study ranged from 3 to 7 times a week,each time lasting more than 30 minutes,and the total intervention duration was from 2 to 12 months.Conclusion Traditional Chinese medicine exercises can be used as a non-pharmacological therapy for the elderly with MCI to effectively improve their cognitive function.
