Objective To construct the Chinese version of Geriatric 8(G 8)questionnaire,and to test its reliability and validity.Methods According to the cross-cultural research guide of the scale,the English version of G 8 was translated,translated back,culturally adjusted,and pre-investigated,and the Chinese version of G 8 wasfinally formed.A total of 260 elderly cancer patients admitted to the inpatient department of a Grade-Ⅲ hospital in Jiangsu province from July 2022 to February 2023 were investigated by convenience sampling methodfor testing the reliability and validity of G 8.Results There were 8 items in the Chinese version of G 8,and the correlation coefficient between the scores of each itemand the total score was 0.417-0.794(P＜0.001).The content validity index(I-CVI)at the item level was 0.833-1,and the average content validity index(S-CVI/AVE)at the questionnaire level was 0.979.Cronbach's α of the total questionnaire was 0.802,and the retest reliability coefficient of the questionnaire was 0.894,which was strongly correlated with the Chinese version of frailty phenotype scale(r=0.630,P＜0.001).The optimal cut-off value of G 8 was 14,the sensitivity was 85.82％,and the specificity was 82.54％.Conclusion The Chinese version of G 8 has good reliability,validity,and screening performance,and can be used as a reliable tool for the frailtyscreening of elderly patients with cancer.
