Evidence-based practice of quality improvement model in the management of bladder spasm after prostatectomy
Objective To conduct clinical continuous quality improvement based on the best evidence of bladder spasm management after prostatectomy. Methods According to the evidence-based continuous quality improvement model, evidence acquisition, current situation review, evidence introduction, and effectiveness evaluation were con-ducted from March to December 2022.The implementation status of each review indicator, the nursing skills and knowledge mastery of clinical nurses for prostatectomy bladder spasm, the incidence and severity of bladder spasm in patients were compared before and after the application of evidence. Results In the first round of current status re-view,the implementation rate of review indicators 13,15,and 21 reached 100%,and the results of the second re-view showed that the above indicators remained good. The implementation rate of the remaining 23 review indicators had been improved. The knowledge level score of nursing staff increased from(79.13±6.10)points to(88.63±5.68)points,and the incidence and severity of bladder spasms in patients decreased compared to before, with statis-tically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion An evidence-based model of continuous quality improvement can promote the nursing quality of bladder spasm management after prostatectomy, and improve patients'clinical out-comes.
