The clinical effect of formaldehyde filling table on reducing formaldehyde exposure of medical staff in operating room
Objective To explore the effect of self-designed formaldehyde filling table on reducing the formalde-hyde exposure of nurses in the surgical specimen room. Methods Using a before and after self control study, the air quality of the surgical specimen room on weekdays in June 2022 in a A tertiary hospital in Jiangxi province was set as the control group, and the air quality in July was set as the experimental group. The control group adopted tradition-al gallon bucket for liquid extraction, and the experimental group used the self-developed electric formaldehyde filling table for liquid extraction. The concentration of formaldehyde, total volatile organic compounds(TVOC),air quality index(AQI),degree of nasal, eye irritation during nurse operation, and the time spent by nurses in specimen pro-cessing were compared between 2 groups. Results The formaldehyde concentration,AQI,and TVOC of the experi-mental group were lower than those of the control group; The change trends of formaldehyde concentration,TVOC,and AQI in different formaldehyde storage tools were different at different times(P<0.01).The frequency of se-vere nasal of nurses in the experimental group was less than that in the control group(P<0.01),and the time of specimen processing in the experimental group was also less than that in the control group(P<0.01).Conclusion The use of medical formaldehyde filling table for formaldehyde solution storage and access between specimens in the operating room has strong airtightness and provides convenient choice of liquid dosage, shortens the operation time of nurses, reduces the risk of formaldehyde exposure in the specimen room, and has good effects.
