Development of the clinical nurse professional psychological resilience scale and its tests of reliability and validation
Objective To develop a clinical nurse professional psychological resilience scale based on the results of conceptual analysis, and to test its reliability and validity. Methods The clinical nurse professional psychological re-silience scale was constructed using conceptual analysis, literature review,semi-structured interviews, and expert consultation.A total of 488 clinical nurses were selected through convenience sampling from September to November 2023,and was assessed by the clinical nurse professional psychological resilience scale, and the connor davidson re-silience scale(CD-RISC-10)was used as the criterion association validity, and the data were analyzed using SPSS 25.0 and AMOS 13.0 software for factor analysis and tests of reliability and validity. Results The clinical nurse pro-fessional psychological resilience scale with 23 items in 5 dimensions of adaptability,controllability,flexibility,te-nacity,and proactiveness was developed. The Cronbach's a coefficient for the overall scale was 0.966,and for 5 di-mensions,it ranged from 0.936 to 0.985,with the split-half reliability of 0.889 and the test-retest reliability of 0.714.The content validity of the total scale was 0.862(>0.800),and the content validity of each item was 0.900-1.000(>0.780).Five common factors and the cumulative variance of 86.010%were revealed by exploratory fac-tor analysis, and the stability of the scale structure was confirmed by confirmatory factor analysis. The correlation coefficient(r)between the scale dimension and the total score and CD-RISC-10 total score was 0.662-0.776(P<0.001).Conclusions The developed clinical nurse professional psychological resilience scale in this study has good reliabil-ity and validity, and can be used to assess the level of professional psychological resilience among clinical nurses.
