On the basis of inheriting Dieluohan(Human Pyramids)in Yecun Village of the Tang Dynasty and the"stepping shoulder play"of the Qing Dynasty,the folkloric activity"Human Pyramids in Yecun Village"with the cultural characteristics of Huizhou and Yecun Village is derived.The activity possesses a definition multi-leveled in its acrobatics,drama performance and folk activities.Upon the previous relatively single entertaining function of people,it has expanded more functions such as inherit-ing tradition,propaganda and edificating,spiritual baptizing,praying for blessings and epidemics chasing,entertaining people and gods,offering sacrifices to ancestors,cohering spirit,and uniting the people,etc.The integration of the traditional culture of the Central Plains and the regional culture of Huizhou has made it with many cultural characteristics,such as distinctive cultural attributes of Huizhou and Yecun Village,religious belief of polytheism,strong inclusiveness and core strength,turning it into a perfect combination of art,technology and belief.The activity has important research value in folk customs,dance and other aspects.
