The entropy-TOPSIS method is used to evaluate the performance of high-quality develop-ment in the Hefei metropolitan area,and the key obstacle factors are analyzed based on the obstacle de-gree model.The results show that the cities located in the east of the metropolitan area along the Yang-tze River generally performed better than those inland cities in terms of high-quality development.The main factors that affect the high-quality development of the Hefei metropolis area include the output and transformation of innovative achievements,investment in innovative talents,medical security degree,infrastructure construction,financial support and the utilization capacity of foreign capital.Therefore,it is suggested to adhere to the concepts of innovation-driven,opening-up and green development,strength-ening of infrastructure construction,enhancing financial support and medical security capacity,accelerat-ing development in the digital economy,and achieving shared development by leveraging the radiating effect of the growth pole cities on the satellite cities.
