Pollen-assisted Synthesis and Characterization of Cobalt Blue Hollow Microspheres
In this paper, the hydroxide-coated pollen precursor was synthesized by the biological template method of lotus pollen, and then the cobalt blue powder samples were prepared by high-tem-perature sintering to remove the pollen template. The technological conditions for preparing the cobalt blue structure of hollow microspheres were discussed by adjusting the pH value of the reaction system.Furthermore, cobalt blue samples were characterized and the formation mechanism of cobalt blue hollow microspheres was analyzed. The results show that the reaction pH value affected the morphology and properties of cobalt blue. When the reaction pH value was 8.5,the cobalt blue powder sample was a hollow microsphere structure with secondary porosity. The specific surface area and specific surface ener-gy of the sample increase, which was beneficial to improve the optical performance(L∗=40.86,a∗=-9.81,b∗=-39.26).The reflectivity and brightness of cobalt blue powder samples in the blue light region of 450-490nm were significantly improved.Studying the properties of inorganic cobalt blue pigment will provide a new method for the preparation of chemical materials.
