Exploration on the Pathways for Conservation and Development of Traditional Huizhou Villages under the Rural Revitalization Initiative—A Case Study of Wentang Village in Huangshan City
Villages are a crucial platform for the implementation of rural revitalization strategies and serve as vital vessels for regional cultural heritage.Based on field research,in-depth interviews, and literature review concerning traditional villages in Huizhou, challenges were identified including the imbalance between conservation and development, continuous population outflow, lack of funds and pro-fessionals for protection, and the incompleteness of related laws and regulations.Three strategic solu-tions were proposed:promoting industrial development, improving protection mechanisms, and implement-ing concentrated, contiguous conservation efforts. An investigation and analysis of the historical evolu-tion of Wentang Village in Huangshan City, its spatial layout, the issues encountered during its protec-tion and development, and the interim achievements made, have led to the conclusion that creating artis-tic villages and pastoral complexes contributes significantly to the sustainable development of the village.
