The unity of Europe originates from the common identity of Europe and the Christian identity is one of the essential.This paper aims at researching the historical origins of European Christian identity through analyzing the elaboration in the Bible and tracing the different historical developments of both East and West Europe and their respective features,and further analyzing the influence of Christian identity on the modern European integration and its leader-European Union.
