Challenges and Countermeasures in the Operation of Online Teaching Teams at Open Universities——A Case Study of Hubei Open University
To align with the ongoing reforms and transformations characteristic of Open Universities and to address the evolving needs of both faculty and students,the Open University of China and its provincial branches have established online teaching teams across various majors and courses.These teams have enhanced student learn-ing efficiency and brought professional development and satisfaction to teachers.However,several operational chal-lenges persist,such as inadequate attention to the teams,lack of comprehensive metrics,low levels of cooperation,weak collaboration,and ineffective management practices.Using Hubei Open University as a case study,this paper examines strategies for improving the effective operation of online teaching teams in open education.These strategies include strengthening top-level design,enhancing system development,broadening team functions,clarifying team responsibilities,quantifying performance evaluations,and facilitating communication channels.
