Determination of gadolinium and iron relative composition in gadolinium-iron alloy by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry
A method for the determination of gadolinium and iron relative composition in gadolinium-iron alloys by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry(ICP-AES)was established. The sample was dissolved with nitric acid solution, and Gd 342.246 nm and Fe 238.204 nm were selected as analytical spectral lines. The relative composition of gadolinium and iron in gadolinium-iron alloys was determined by ICP-AES under optimized instrument conditions. The mass concentration of gadolinium and iron had a good linear relationship with the spectral intensity of corresponding elements in the range of 10.00-19.00 μg/mL and 1.00-10.00 μg/mL,respectively,and the correlation coefficients were all 0.999 9.The detection limit was 0.072%and 0.078%,respectively,and the quantification limit was 0.24%and 0.26%,respectively.According to the established method, the relative standard deviations of determination results of gadolinium and iron relative composition were 0.21%-0.28%and 0.49%-0.71%(n=6),respectively.The recoveries of gadolinium and iron were 95.2%-103.5%and 98.4%-101.8%,respectively.This method is suitable for the determination of gadolinium and iron relative composition in gadolinium-iron alloys.
