Simulation and Optimization of Flow Characteristics in Flue Gas CO2 Capture Tower
The washing and absorption system is one of the core technologies of chemical absorption carbon capture, which is crucial for effectively capturing CO2 in flue gas.To improve the removal efficiency of pollutants such as SO2 and dust in scrubber, and enhance the absorption efficiency of CO2 in scrubber and absorber, and reduce the operation resistance of scrubber and absorber, the flow model of carbon capture scrubber and absorber by organic amine chemical absorption method was established by numerical simulation. The inlet flue gas angle, inlet flue gas velocity, the height between inlet flue and filling and the structure of liquid tray in tower were optimized by analyzing the flue gas flow characteristics in tower. The results showed that when the inclination angle of the absorber was greater than 10°,the velocity deviation and pressure loss in the absorber were significantly lower than those at the angle of 0°,and the optimal angle was at 15°.The relative standard deviation and pressure loss at the inlet of scrubber and absorber increased with the increase of inlet gas velocity. After adding a double-row vane gas distributor at the tower entrance, the flue gas velocity distribution in the front section of the first filling layer in the tower was more uniform, but the pressure loss was higher. After optimizing the structure of the liquid tray, the relative standard deviation and pressure loss of the flue gas velocity in the front section of the liquid tray were significantly reduced, thus effectively saving energy consumption.
