Aoshangwan Site is in Maozui Village,Xiangqiao Town,Qichun County,Huanggang City,Hubei Province.Sitting at the southern foot of the Dabie Mountains and close to the Yangtze River,the site is located in the important channel for cultural exchanges in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River.From October 2015 to January 2016,Department of Archaeology of Wuhan University and Qichun County Museum jointly excavated Aoshangwan Site,revealing a number of remains and relics of late Neolithic Period.The discovered remains and relics,bearing features of Xuejiagang Culture,Qujialing Culture and Shijiahe Culture,illustrate the relatively entire process of cultural changes in eastern Hubei back in the Neolithic Period.
