From September 2012 to June 2013,Institute for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage,Zhengzhou University and Zhengzhou Municipal Research Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology jointly excavated Guanzhuang Site in Henan's Xingyang,revealing ash pits,tombs,clay stoves and other remains.The plans of the ash pits are round,oval,rectangular and irregular ones.The unearthed relics include pottery,bronzeware,stone implements,ironware and artifacts made of shells.The unearthed pottery include li,pen,dou,jars,yu and lids;the unearthed stone implements include spades,knives and arrowheads;the unearthed bone tools include hairpins,needles and cones;the unearthed bronzeware include arrowheads and scrapers.Given the characteristics of the arrangements of the unearthed pottery,it is inferred that Guanzhuang Site was in use from the time when Western Zhou coming to its end while Eastem Zhou seeing the beginning of its era to early and middle Warring States Period.Abundant archaeological evidence and tangible materials have been gathered for the archaeological research into the culture and society in Zhengzhou back in Zhou Dynasty.
